Author Casey Sherman is now repped by UTA in all areas, having previously been repped solely for publishing for many years. New York Times bestselling author Casey Sherman has expanded his representation at UTA to include all aspects of his career. Sherman, known for his 18 books, is best known for films such as The Finest Hours and Boston Strong. His latest book, A Murder in Hollywood, chronicles the love affair between Lana Turner and Johnny Stompanato. Other notable titles include 12: The Inside Story of Tom Brady’s Fight for Redemption, and Helltown, about a serial murder case on Cape Cod. Sherman is also working on a docuseries chronicling his re-investigation of the Boston Strangler case. His next book, Blood in the Water, will be released by Sourcebooks in 2025.

EXCLUSIVE: After repping New York Times bestselling author Casey Sherman for publishing for many years, UTA has expanded the relationship, moving to rep him in all areas.
The author of 18 books, Sherman is best known for titles like The Finest Hours — Disney’s action thriller at sea, starring Chris Pine, Casey Affleck and Ben Foster — and Boston Strong, which was adapted into the film Patriots Day, starring Mark Wahlberg, by CBS Films.
A USA Today and Los Angeles Times bestseller, his latest book, A Murder in Hollywood, chronicles the deadly love affair between screen legend Lana Turner and her gangster boyfriend, Johnny Stompanato. As we were first to report, that title is now in development as a feature with a pair of Oscar nominees, screenwriter Terence Winter (Wolf of Wall Street) and producer Rachel Winter (Dallas Buyers Club).
Sherman’s bestseller 12: The Inside Story of Tom Brady’s Fight for Redemption, co-written with Dave Wedge, has been picked up for development as a scripted limited series by Oscar nominees Paul Tamasy & Eric Johnson (The Fighter). Additionally, his book Helltown, about a serial murder case on Cape Cod, is currently in development with Academy Award winner Edward Berger (All Quiet on the Western Front) on board to direct, Oscar Isaac locked for the role of author Kurt Vonnegut, and Team Downey set to produce.
Previously, Sherman co-wrote and produced Hunting Whitey, the stage adaptation of his book about Boston mob boss Whitey Bulger, starring Yellowstone‘s Neal McDonough. He also wrote the screenplay for Turk, a movie based on the rise, fall and redemption story of 1970s Boston Bruins hockey star Derek Sanderson, and co-wrote the screenplay for Ice Bucket Challenge, a movie based on his book about Pete Frates, the ALS patient who sparked a global social media phenomenon in 2014. Both projects are still in development.
Sherman is also the co-host of the true crime podcast Saints, Sinners and Serial Killers, alongside Wedge. Currently, he’s working on a docuseries chronicling his groundbreaking re-investigation of the Boston Strangler case with producer-director Paul Lima.
Sherman’s next book, Blood in the Water, chronicling the Nathan Carman murder case, will be released by Sourcebooks in 2025. The multi-hyphenate continues to be repped by attorney Joel VanderKloot.
