Alex Pretti’s parents say federal government is shielding agents involved in his killing
The couple allege no one from the government has contacted them with any substantive information regarding the killing of their son for nine months. The parents of intensive care nurse Alex Pretti, who was shot multiple times in the back during President Trump's ramp up in deportations, have accused the federal government of lying about their son's death. They argue that the Department of Justice is shielding immigration enforcement officers involved in their son’s killing and has not provided any substantive information for nine months. The family spoke at a news conference, calling their treatment by the Trump administration "cruelty". They also expressed frustration that no one from the federal agency has contacted them since July to discuss the status of the federal investigation into Pretti's death or the deaths of Renee Good. Minnesota officials have sued the Trump government for access to materials they say they need to independently investigate the shootings of Pretti and Good.

“The federal government went on TV and lied about Alex,” said Susan Pretti, his mother. “They tried to slander his memory to cover up their crime. Not only was it wrong, it was shameful.”
