Framingham Approves $3M In Community Preservation Act Funding

The funding will go toward 13 local projects in 2024. Here's what they are. The Framingham City Council has approved $3 million in Community Preservation Act (CPA) funding for 13 projects, including two rental subsidy programs, construction of an accessible boardwalk on the Carol Getchell Nature Trail, fencing and storage at Pratt Street Community Garden, Reardon Park Construction, rehabilitation and preservation of Waushakum Lake, historic preservation of Athenaeum Hall, and restoration of the Academy Building. Since the adoption of the CPA in 2020, the Framingham CPA has supported 23 projects totalling over $4.5 million, which includes over $900,000 in matching funds from the State.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — With the funding approval by the Framingham City Council on April 30, 2024, the Framingham Community Preservation Committee (CPC) is announcing the Fiscal Year 2024 projects to be funded through the Community Preservation Act (CPA). The City Council approved over $3 million in CPA funds for 13 projects.

This year, grants will be given for two rental subsidy programs, a design study for Walsh-Dunning Softball Field Complex Improvements, construction of an accessible boardwalk on the Carol Getchell Nature Trail, fencing and storage at Pratt Street Community Garden, Reardon Park Construction, ecological restoration on the Cochituate Rail Trail, rehabilitation and preservation of Waushakum Lake, historic preservation of Athenaeum Hall, accessibility and restoration of the Academy Building, restoration of the South Wall at Village Hall, a design study for historic preservation of the Memorial Building and Edgell Grove Tomb House preservation. Since the adoption of the CPA in 2020, the Framingham CPA has supported 23 projects totaling more than $4.5 million, which includes more than $900,000 in matching funds from the State.
