Fox, who won each of the six precincts and tallied 2,472 votes, was one of two candidates to earn three-years under the new format designed to stagger Select Board elections. The next two highest vote-holders were Alexa Singer and Erin Noonan, who each earned two-year terms if their unofficial totals hold. Meanwhile, incumbent Bret Murray was elected to a one-year position as the fifth-place finisher with 1,878 votes. Most of the offices were uncontested, with all five incumbents being re-elected.

MARBLEHEAD, MA — A newcomer to the Marblehead Select Board secured a three-year term as the top vote-getter in this year's annual election, according to unofficial results.

Daniel Fox was one of two candidates to earn a three-year term under this year's format designed to stagger Select Board elections going forward. Fox won each of the six precincts and tallied 2,472 votes, with incumbent Moses Grader finishing second with 2,011 votes to earn the other three-year term.

The next two highest vote-getters were incumbents Alexa Singer and Erin Noonan, and each earned two-year terms, if the unofficial totals hold. Noonan earned 1,993 votes and Singer earned 1,922. Incumbent Bret Murray was elected to a one-year term as the fifth-place finisher with 1,878 votes.

Most of the offices were uncontested in Tuesday's vote. The Parks & Recreation Commissioners did receive a challenge with all five incumbents being re-elected.

Kristin Horton was elected to the Housing Authority in a two-person race on the ballot.
