Power outage forces Patriots Point museum temporary closure

Patriots Point experienced an unexpected power outage on June 12, forcing the shutdown of their museum ships and parking lot area until power is restored. Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum in Mount Pleasant closed its parking lot and access to its ships around 11 a.m. June 12 because of power outage.

The state-owned military attraction posted on social media that it remain closed until the issue was resolved.

Patriots Point officials are still trying to determine the cause of the outage.

Dominion Energy's outage map shows most of Patriots Point is without power, including neighboring hotels, including the Embassy Suites by Hilton Charleston Harbor Mt. Pleasant.
