Bird sightings on Cape Cod
Recent sightings as reported to Mass Audubon. Recent sightings of American flamingos on Cape Cod have been reported. The rare sighting occurred at Chapin Beach in Dennis, but has not been seen since. The same flamingo was seen on Long Island, N.Y., and a Franklin's gull passed through Race Point in Provincetown. Other sightings included a glaucous gull, a common murre, and 2 black guillemots.

An American flamingo, believe it or not, was seen at Chapin Beach in Dennis, but has not been seen since. Multiple observers got photos and/or video of this incredible rarity. What was probably this same flamingo was seen on Long Island, N.Y., as well
A Franklin’s gull passed Race Point in Provincetown, and other sightings at Race Point included a glaucous gull, a common murre, and 2 black guillemots.
