Adetunji Abudu, a Nigerian man wanted by US federal authorities for nearly seven years, has been arrested at Boston Logan International Airport after attempting to re-enter the country from Istanbul, Turkey. He is one of six defendants named in a federal indictment alleging that millions of dollars obtained through romance scams and fraud schemes were laundered and transferred to Nigeria. Abududu reportedly left the United States in 2019 after the FBI conducted a court-authorised search of his residence in North Providence, Rhode Island. He remained wanted for nearly a decade and was ordered detained pending trial. The charges against Abudude and the other defendants are allegations unless established in court.
