PETA flagging alleged animal mistreatment at UMass Chan Medical School. The animal rights group PETA has reported allegations of animal mistreatment at UMass Chan Medical School in Worcester, Massachusetts, to state and federal authorities. The group alleges that dogs used in "deadly experiments" are intentionally starved to keep them in smaller cages, while other animals are left with open and necrotic wounds and prolonged deaths. The allegations were made by a concerned insider who forwarded documents and photos to PETA. The medical school has not directly addressed the allegations, while defending its practices. PETA also highlighted alleged mistreatment in the lab of researcher Matthew Gounis.
