Editorial: Hell ‘No’ on Question 3

If this ballot question passes, it will take a decade to crawl out of a Democratic-induced coma. We will all wake up to an outmigration like we’ve never seen before. The Massachusetts Independent Voters' editorial team has called for a vote against Question 3, a ballot question that would eliminate political party primaries for state elections and establish a single, all-party primary where all candidates, regardless of their party affiliation, would be listed on one ballot. The two candidates receiving the most votes in the primary would advance to the general election ballot. This move is seen as an attempt by progressives to create a more transparent one-party state. The Independent Voters should vote against this measure, arguing that the current political system is not working for the average taxpayer and is an indictment against the will of the people and the cash-fed political machine. Boston U.S. Rep. Ayanna Pressley, who argues that candidates who don't have the funds necessary to compete for a spot in the primaries and again on the general elections, agrees. The editorial team urges supporters to reject Question 3 and urge the Democrats in state and local government to work for taxpayers.
