There is a dearth of talent across the MIAA this spring season, with players stepping up at a young age, and seniors looking to finish their careers strong. Here are 10 of the top athletes to watch in the 2024 season: Charlie Carroll, Marshfield — An explosive receiver for the football team last fall, Carroll is equally dynamic as a two-way midfielder. Trey Clayton, Acton-Boxborough — The junior should lead the attack for the Revolution with his sophomore brother, Tristan, also stepping into a major role after dislocating his shoulder last season.

Donovan DeVellis, King Philip — KP is a program on the rise with their senior attackman looking to follow up a 100-point season (58 goals, 45 assists) with another strong spring. Cullen Granara, Reading — His cousin, Robbie, and brother Finn, have graduated, and now Cullen Granara looks to keep the Reading offense flowing as a leading force on attack during his junior year. Tommy Farrell, North Andover — After piling up double-digit goals as a freshman, the sophomore attack steps into a bigger role as part of Steve Zella’s high-powered offense. Jimmy Kenney, Needham — A 6-foot-2 lefty long-stick midfielder headed to Notre Dame, Kenney is one of the best transition weapons in the MIAA, as evidenced by the 21 goals and 34 assists he compiled during his junior campaign. Owen Kreuz, Newburyport — A multi-sport standout headed to Assumption to play lacrosse, Kreuz will anchor a talented midfield as the Clippers look to make another deep tournament run. Will Morse, Norwell — With fellow senior Charlie Booras also returning, Morse is part of one of the strongest defensive lines in the state for the two-time defending champion Clippers. Sebastian Reyes, Xaverian — Part of an experienced front line that includes Bryant-bound attack Dante Mariani, Reyes is a prolific midfielder who will be tasked with feeding his teammates and scoring. Jake Vana, St. John’s Prep — A key member of the state championship hockey and soccer teams at Prep, the senior midfielder has an opportunity to graduate with a fourth ring from this dynastic lacrosse program.
