A Boston man won $1 million on a lottery ticket he bought while visiting his girlfriend on Nantucket.
Jose Fontanez had purchased the winning “$4,000,000 Bonus Bucks” scratch ticket for $10 at Old South Diner, located at 57 Old South Rd. on the island.
Fontanez chose to receive his $1 million prize in the form of a one-time payment of $650,000 before taxes when he claimed it on March 11, the Massachusetts State Lottery said.
The Boston man told the lottery he wants to buy a house with his winnings. Old South Diner will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
