Red Sox 'Sneaky Trade Candidate' Will Stun Boston Fans
The Boston Red Sox are loaded with talent all across the roster already and arguably are going to be better in 2027 than they were in 2026. Boston was a playoff team in 2026, but the organization is in a better place right now than it was at this point last year thanks in large part due to the trade deadline additions. Mead, a 26-year-old player who hit 17 home runs and drove in 48 runs in 88 games for the Boston Red Sox, could potentially help the team if he is traded away. However, he only played one game due to a fractured wrist and could potentially fill a vacant spot in the middle infield. The Red Sox currently have Willson Contreras, Mead, Trevor Story, Caleb Durbin, Nick Sogard, and top prospect Franklin Arias. If the Red Sox trade Mead away, it would make the deal a failure.
