ICE documents reveal plan to hold 80,000 immigrants in warehouses
Newly arrested detainees would be booked into processing sites for a few weeks before being funneled into one of seven large-scale warehouses holding 5,000 to 10,000 people each, the plans show. The warehouse plan is part of the administration's strategy to expedite deportations by using warehouses as detention centers. Critics argue that concentrating detainees in warehouses would create logistical issues as they are designed for storage and shipping, not human habitation. The majority of the warehouses are in towns, counties and states led by Republicans.
