Will Jaylen Brown’s continued jabs at Jayson Tatum and the Celtics damage his Boston legacy?
Brown has acted since the trade like he’s the only excellent player in NBA history to be dealt. Jaylen Brown, a five-time All-Star, a champion, an NBA Finals Most Valuable Player, and a beloved Celtic, has been criticized by fans for his aggressive behavior towards Jayson Tatum and the Celtics. Brown was traded to the rival 76ers on July 1 in a deal that brought 36-year-old Paul George and four draft picks to the Celtics, a move that has rattled Celtics fans. Since then, Brown has been cryptic and not-so-cryptic about the Celtics' decision to trade him, suggesting that the team was just as good without Tatum as they were with him. This could potentially damage Brown's reputation as a player and potentially damage his Boston legacy. Tatum responded by saying he was shocked by the trade, but Brown responded by calling Tatum a liar and suggesting that Brown knew about it. Brown also suggested that the trade was not the only excellent player in NBA history to be traded.
