Red Sox, Yankees Both Linked to Same 39-HR Slugger in Free Agency
The Boston Red Sox free agent buzz is already beginning. The Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees have been linked to Japanese player Teruaki Sato, who recently won the Triple Crown in the Nippon Professional Baseball league and then joined an MLB team the next season. Sato is set to be the first Japanese position player since Hideki Matsui to win the MVP Award in the league and join an MLB. However, Bowden's projected price tag for Sato may be too high for someone who has never played a major league game.
