New England is meeting again with North Carolina QB Drake Maye ahead of the 2024 NFL draft. The New England Patriots have shown that they're, at the very least, intrigued by the prospect of selecting North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye with the third overall pick in this month's draft after meeting with him at the combine and his Pro Day.

Now, New England is set to meet with the Tar Heel product again, as the MMQB's Albert Breer reports that Maye has a top-30 visit scheduled for Friday at Gillette Stadium.

Maye completed 64.9% of his passes for 8,018 yards, 63 touchdowns and just 16 interceptions during his 30 games over three seasons at North Carolina.

The Patriots struggled to get much going offensively in 2023, and a big reason for their issues was the play from Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe at quarterback. The duo combined for just 3,392 yards, 16 touchdowns and 21 interceptions while completing just 63% of their attempts.

In 2024, a team that wants to be considered a contender has to have a quarterback who can lead them to postseason wins, and while we don't know if Maye can do that, de facto general manager Eliot Wolf may believe that this quarterback is worth trying out.
