Matthew Farwell’s Twin Reveals Birchmore Said Relationship Began At 15: Reports
Tuesday marked the 11th day of testimony in the trial of the ex-Stoughton police detective who is accused of killing a pregnant woman. Matthew Farwell, former Stoughton police officer, is accused of murdering pregnant 23-year-old woman, Birchmore, to prevent her from revealing their relationship. Prosecutors allege that Farwell strangled Birchmore in 2021 to prevent the revelation of their relationship, which they say began when she was 15. Farwell has pleaded not guilty and maintains that Birchmore died by suicide. His twin brother, William Farwell also testified that Birchman seemed happy about her pregnancy and showed no desire to hurt herself. Forensic expert Dr. William Smock concluded that Birchm's broken hyoid bone and hair tangled in the strap were inconsistent with suicide. If convicted, Farwell faces life in federal prison.
